Review #11: The Movie: The Bucket List

I watched this movie knowing that I might end up crying sometime during the movie ,and I was right ,it made me cry just like I thought it would. I thought maybe I would get through it without crying ,but that was not possible with this movie. If you watch this movie for the first time or again after awhile of not watching it ,prepare for a good cry. Other than the movie making me cry ,I enjoyed watching it for the first time. Every time I watch movies or television ,I try to take away something useful from it ,and use it in my life to make my life better.

I thought this movie was inspiring because it basically says that it is never too late to start living. These men in the movie lived most of their life for business or family or both ,and they never really lived for themselves. When they both got some bad news about their health ,they decided to start living for themselves and make themselves happy instead of everyone else. For the rest of their lives ,they lived life too the fullest ,not wasting anymore time on things that did not make them happy. Part of what I got out of this movie was that, it is never too late to be happy. It is also never too late to change your life as long as you are breathing ,you can change things and make them better. Just because you get some bad news ,you do not have to let it control you or your life.

These two men went around the world and experienced a lot of things ,things that they probably would not have done if they had plenty of time to live. They also did some things that they always wanted to do or experience before they go. While experiencing all of these things ,they became close friends ,maybe like brothers ,and when it was over and they went back to their lives ,it did not feel the same as it was before. They were both grateful that they did it ,and they were able to mark off things on their list all the way up until the end. If you have not seen this movie yet ,I encourage anyone reading this to watch this movie because it is a good movie to give you some perspective on life ,that you might not have had before.

Review #10: The Movie: Catch Me If You Can

I watched this movie because of the actors in it ,and because they are usually good actors ,so I thought I would give the movie a try. As I was watching the movie ,I was first focused on the actors and then I soon got pulled into the story and how good the story is. By the end of the movie, I was not thinking about the actors ,I was just thinking about the story because it is a good story. I also found out at the end of the movie that it was based on a true story. This movie is about a kid who leaves home and becomes lost and confused on the way. Although, he seemed like he was succeeding in life ,he was actually cheating it and getting things by cheating his way to them.

Everything he had in life was not because he earned it fairly ,it was because he cheated to get it. Because of this, his life unfolded and became bigger than he was able to handle. In this journey, from leaving home ,he ended up being charged for check fraud ,but also got a job working for the FBI and slowly got his life together without cheating. While working for the FBI, he helped with the check fraud department because he was a master at it because of all the things he was able to do with check fraud ,so he was able to tell if something was not right ,and instead of just being a prisoner ,he became beneficial to the FBI ,and gained a real life that was not cheated ,and his conscience was cleared.

I thought this movie was good overall, at first I was not sure about it because I had never heard about it ,but I gave it a chance and even though it was longer than I thought it would ,I enjoyed watching it because it is about loosing your way and finding your way back. It is about love, loss, truth and lies. This movie has meaning if you are looking for it ,and can maybe inspire anyone that it is not too late to turn things around no matter how bad they get. We can often find light through the storms even if it takes along time to happen ,or longer than expected. I think it is also about going a direction just to prove something to people but it does not make you happy or fulfilled. I think it is about being true to yourself and not doing things just because you think that is what you are suppose to do ,because that is when people loose their way and become lost and possibly in trouble.







Review #9: The Movie: Homeward Bound

This movie is an older movie made by Disney ,and I use to watch it all the time ,and it made me feel all kinds of motions ,but I enjoyed every moment of the movie. I fell in love with these furry friends as they went on their adventure trying to get back to their family. They helped each other no matter what because they came from the same home ,and although there were times when they did not like each other they still cared for each other. While, they were going through their adventure ,their humans were looking for them and did not give up hope in finding them ,they knew they would be back if they did not find them. The movie is about love between more than one species ,and it shows how much love there is between them because of their actions of wanting to be together.

This movie has a sequel that was just as good as the first one ,and if you love animals ,you will enjoy these two movies for something different to watch. Although, this movie has people in it ,it is mostly about the animals ,and there are not many movies out there that are focused more on the animals than the people ,and that is something I enjoy about the movie because I am an animal lover.

This movie is not only about love and animals ,it is also about adventure. These animals see so much and experience so much for an animal ,but they manage to survive and thrive. Everything that happens to them ,they overcome it ,and make it back home ,no matter how lost they get. I think these animals are cute, furry, and inspiring to me and I hope they are just as inspiring to other people. If you have not seen these movies ,you should try to see them ,and enjoy them as much as I did. 







Review #8: The Movie: Beauty and the Beast

This movie is based on the original ,which was a cartoon ,and it has been awhile since I have seen the cartoon ,but when I saw this movie ,it all came back to me about what it was like. I saw the old version enough to remember most of it. After, watching this movie I realized there were some parts that I forgot about ,but most of it I remembered watching. Because watching this brought back so many memories of watching the original over and over ,I knew they did a good job making it into what it should be. This is the first non-cartoon Beauty and the Beast that was made and I am happy to say that it turned out to be an enjoyable movie to watch.

I have to admit that before I got the chance to see this movie ,I would see the previews of it ,and I was not sure how good it was going to be. The reason that I saw it was because someone I know wanted to see it. Along time ago, when I was a kid watching the cartoon of this movie ,I did not realize it had so many meanings to it. Watching this movie again as an adult ,I realized that it has a lot of meaning to it. I think it has inspiring messages that it gives to people watching it ,and I know some people might not see it or realize it. One of the meanings that I am talking about is change, it shows that change is possible. Another one of the meanings is that if you do not give up, you can find light through the darkness no matter how bad the situation gets. The last one is that family needs to stick together no matter what happens.

Although, there were some scenes that were better than others ,I thought the movie was well made. I thought the actors were picked well for their roles ,and played them just as well as the cartoon. Although, I was not sure about how good it was going to be ,it did not disappoint me in any way. Everything about the movie was on point to the original ,which is a relieve for me and maybe many more people who are worried about how good it is ,because sometimes you never know if the people making it might ruin a classic unintentionally. There is no need to worry about this movie because it turned out better than I expected it would.

Review #7: The Movie: How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days

This movie is somewhat old ,it has been out for awhile ,and I am assuming a lot of people have seen it ,but I am also assuming that a lot of people have not seen it. I personally enjoy watching the movie every now and then when I find it on television ,because TV does not have much on nowadays. It is partly serious and partly humorous and I enjoy the fact that it is just a fun variety filled movie to watch every now and then. Although, it is a chick flick ,I think everyone should see it at least once because it has a good story line to it.

I think Kate's Hudson's character is inspiring for people who want to be writers and are passionate about what they write because that is how her character is. The name of her character is Andy ,and she plays it well. Andy is working for a company doing How To articles but she wants to do more with her writing. In the middle of all that she ends up helping her friend out and doing a article based on her problems with men ,and she ends up falling for the guy she dates to gain knowledge about what she is writing. I feel like any writer can relate to her character in some way.

On the other side, there is Matthew and his character in this movie is named Ben. Ben is doing the opposite of what Andy is trying to do ,and that is trying to get a women to fall in love with him in 10 days ,and between him trying to get her to fall in love with him ,and her trying to get him to break up with her ,it becomes a disaster that ends with a happy ending for both characters. I think this movie is inspiring in many ways ,and should be considered for a light hearted movie. I enjoy that it is not too serious of a movie because the world is too serious and I think it is refreshing to have something a little funny to enjoy watching once in awhile.

Review #6: The Show: The Vampire Diaries

I am writing a review for this show because it is a good series that has sadly come to an end after many years of being on the air. I think everything has to come to an end eventually. I do not want to compare it to anything ,but this show is nothing like the Twilight series except for the love triangle. If you have not seen this show or knew it existed ,I suggest you give it a chance because it is interesting and there is always something new happening and there are many twists and turns. There is love ,adventure ,and conflict all at the same time. This show is addicting to watch ,but it is also gory. If you can handle some blood ,guts and gore ,than this would be a good series to watch ,it can be found on Netflix and maybe on the CW website or you can buy the series.

When I first started watching this series ,I did not know what to expect ,but it turned out to be a good series for many years. I enjoyed the variety of characters that they had ,and they always had new characters and new things happening. When you think you knew what was going on ,something different happened. This show was hardly predictable ,but highly entertaining. I liked the way the characters would always stick together and solve problems that would come up. When there were no problems ,there would be celebrations that also made the show enjoyable because it gave it something extra. I liked how well the actors and actresses worked together on the show ,I felt like they did well together ,and made the show last as long as it did.

I was sad to see this show go off the air after so long ,and although I have accepted it ,I will not forget this show. If you have seen this show ,you might know what I am talking about when I say so many good things about it ,but if you have not seen it ,you might want to give it a try. I know some people might not like it or even if it a try ,because I am sure there are some people that probably are not fans of vampire shows. This show has more than just vampires ,it has werewolves and witches and good story lines and suspense ,it has everything all wrapped up into one show. If you think you might like it then give it a try.

Review #5: The Show: The Voice

                                                    

                                                                 

The voice is a well-known tv show, that has been on the air for many seasons. The show started in December 2010 and is now on its ninth season. There are many contestants, judges and people involved in helping the show be successful. The many reasons why the show has been successful for so many seasons include: the coaches, the audience ,the contestants ,and all the people behind the scenes. Celebrities and musicians Adam Levine, Gwen Stefani, Pharrell Williams ,and Blake Shelton all take place as coaches on the voice. Carson Daly is the host of the voice which plays an important role as well as the coaches. The voice gives any person from around the world the opportunity to compete to become the next winner of The Voice.

    Each one of the coaches have a different style to their music. Adam Levine is the lead singer in the band Maroon 5. Gwen Stefani, was also in a band ,it was a rock and pop genre. Pharrell Williams is a single artist ,that sings soul music. Blake shelton is from the country ,so he sings country music. The coaches also have their own personalities that they have proven to show throughout the nine seasons of success. Whether it is these four coaches on the voice or different ones ,all of the coaches on the voice get along in their own way. Despite the personalities, the coaches always make the show fun for everyone involved including the contestants, the host ,the audience and the many people watching at home..

The voice has four parts to the show including the blind auditions ,the battle rounds ,the knockouts and the final performances. Unlike, other singing competitions, the voice is only based on the talent of the contestants. When the contestants audition to be on the voice, their physical appearance is not taken into consideration whether they will make it on the show or not. To be able to make it on the show depends on the talent to sing well and how the contestants use that talent.

Every person that auditions for the voice has a different story to tell. Some of them go audition to be on the show in hopes of supporting themselves and their families. While, other people audition to be on the voice because it is their lifelong dream to be a successful singer. No matter what their story is about they all come for the same reason and that is to succeed on the voice and to be able to pursue their dreams and talents.

    When auditioning for the voice, if a person is lucky enough to have a chair turn around ,it can mean only two things. That person has successfully made it on the voice and it can also mean that they will have a coach to help them through the whole process. If the person auditioning was able to get more than one chair to turn around, then they get the opportunity to choose which coach they want to work with while being on the show. The coaches have the opportunity to change someone’s life with a touch of a button.

    Sometimes throughout the show, the coaches are peculiar about who they want on their team. This makes it harder to get more than one chair to turn around. If only one chair turns around, then the person auditioning does still get the chance to be on the voice ,but does not get the opportunity to choose their coach. Having one chair turn around is not a complete loss because the person is still able to be on the show. Unfortunately, there are times when people do not make it on at all. The people that are not able to get at least one chair to turn around are always encouraged by the coaches to come back and try again. The people that do make it on are happy to have the chance.

      Whether, a person makes it on the voice or not, every person is unique in their own way. Every contestant has their preferred genre of music that they love ,this helps them decide on a coach. This is something that all the judges can see in people that audition. All of the coaches have already been successful in music. While, the voice has been around for many seasons, some of the coaches have came and gone. It does not matter if the coaches are new or old to the voice, because every one of them has a unique coaching style to help the members on their team succeed on the show.

    The show starts off with the blind auditions giving the people auditioning a chance to show off their talents. The blind auditions last for a few weeks because there are always many people auditioning to be on the voice. Throughout, the blind auditions the coaches get the chance to listen to many voices in hopes that there will be some that they want on their team. Although there are some voices that could be better, there are also some voices that highly impress the coaches. When the coaches have their teams all filled up with talented singers, then the next part of the show begins. The next part of the show is called the battle rounds. The battle rounds is where the contestants battle against each other to stay on the show.

    Some of the contestants will impress the coaches enough to stay on the show because they have what it takes while others will be good but might be missing something that the coaches are looking for ,if this is the case ,then they will be sent home. During the battle rounds, if a contestant is going to be sent home from one of the coaches team’s ,then one of the other coaches will be able to steal that contestant for themselves if they want to. Each of the coaches have two steals available to use during the battle rounds. While the coaches are there to help their team succeed ,they also offer helpful advice in helping them be better at what they do best.

    After, the battle rounds are over ,then the next phase of the show starts ,and that is the knockouts. During the knockout performances ,each of the contestants still remaining on the show are able to perform individually for the coaches in hopes that they will make it to the final performance show. Unfortunately, if someone is sent home ,the judges can no longer steal that person in hopes of keeping them on the show. The knockout performances is where the contestants must give it their all before the live performance show.

    During the life performance show and the final performances, the coaches no longer get to decide who stays and who goes home because it is now up to the audience and the people watching the voice to vote for their favorite artist. This time during the show the coaches get stressed out because they do not want to lose anyone on their team. When it is time for the results to be announced ,the judges are in their seats holding their breaths as they wait to find out who stays and who goes home. Although, the coaches know that someone has to go home ,and it is a possibility that it could be someone from their team ,it still makes them nervous having to wait and find out. If the coaches lose someone from their team ,because they did not have enough votes to stay on the show any longer, than the judges will have to say goodbye to that person being on their team and the show.

The next phase of the show is the eliminations. During the eliminations ,the results are read off and the bottom three contestants have to sing to stay on the show. If a contestant is in the bottom three then it means they are one of the three people to have the lowest votes for that night. The contestants will sing one at a time ,one song only ,and then the people watching at home will have to vote to save which contestant that they want to stay on the show.

Throughout the past seasons of the voice ,there have been many different contestants that have competed and one on the voice. Some of those contestants include: Javier Colon, Jermaine Paul, Cassadee Pope, Danielle Bradbery, Tessanne Chin, Josh Kaufman, Craig Wayne Boyd, Sawyer Fredericks. All of these contestants have successfully won the voice. Most of them were on Blake’s team ,while the others were on either Adam’s team ,Usher’s Team ,and Pharrell’s Team. Javier Colon was the winner of season one. Jermaine Paul was the winner of season two. Cassadee Pope was the winner of season three. Danielle Bradbery was the winner of season four. Tessanne Chin was the winner of season five. Josh Kaufman was the winner of season six. Craig Wayne Boyd was the winner of season seven. Finally, Sawyer Fredericks was the winner of season eight. Season nine is currently in progress ,and all the fans are waiting to find out who wins this season on The Voice.

Every contestant that has had the chance to compete on the voice has gone on to be successful in some way. Some of them have received record deals ,and some of them are just doing their music careers independently. Some of the artists that were on the show now have connections with people that will help them to continue to pursue their music career. Whether the former contestants are still singing or not ,or have a record deal or not ,all of them leave the show being thankful for what they got out of it ,even if all they got from being on the show was advice from the coaches.

   

The show being successful for nine seasons does not only have to do with the people involved like the coaches and the contestants. The show is also successful because it know how to draw people in ,and to get them to watch it. One way the show gets viewers is by having celebrities on the show either as coaches, the coaches assistants ,or they are performing on the show during one of the episodes. When advertising the show to try to get more viewers ,they announce that these celebrities will be on the show temporary in hopes that they can draw more people in to watch the show. Having celebrities on the show helps draw people in because they are already famous and the fans that they have will want to watch them even though they might not be singing. One more reason why it helps to have celebrities on the show to help promote it is because if any of the celebrities get in the headlines ,then it draws attention to the voice because they were on it ,will be on it ,or already are on it.

    Another way to promote the would be to advertise it through commercials ,magazines ,and the internet. The Voice has commercials promoting it saying that a new season is coming back ,considering how often commercials run ,it probably runs a lot in between other popular shows on the channel that it is being promoted on. The show can also be promoted through magazines ,by having an article out about the show stating how successful they have been throughout the years and also talking about the successful coaches that they have on the show. The internet is another major way to promote the show ,because the show can post news ,pictures and videos to try to keep people interested while the show is off the air or even while it is still on the air. Also, having people come on the show and audition draws people in because everyone they know will want to watch them on the show. The voice will also tell about every contestant and how they came to be on the show. The stories of the contestants will help the people watching relate to them and it will keep their interest in watching the show ,because they will have something that they can relate to. Using these promoting techniques while promoting the show, helps the show to reach more of a variety of viewers ,and more than likely will get more people interested than just using one promoting technique.
