Review #16: The Movie: Confessions of a Shopaholic

I took a chance and watched this movie not knowing what it was about. The title of the movie is what made me curious about it ,because there have been times where I have spent too much money while shopping on things that I later realized I did not really want or need ,but something at that time made me buy them. I feel like everyone has these moments at least once in their life ,and whether they realize it or not ,might have a shopping problem. I am usually good at not spending ,I am usually good at saving my money and spending it on something I really want and on something that I will not regret later on. I do not usually impulse buy ,so I quickly stopped myself when I realized I had a spending problem every time I went into thrift stores or any store for that matter. I thought this movie might be interesting to watch because I could relate to it ,and it turned out that it was interesting.

Not only was this movie interesting to watch ,but it also had humor in it ,it was not completely serious. I thought this movie was light-hearted and enjoyable to watch ,and I will watch it again because it is enjoyable and it takes my mind off of things that I want to spend on. I feel like this movie gives hope to people with money problems because in this movie the character is drowning in debt ,and manages to figure something out even though she faces some challenges throughout the movie before there is a happy ending. The main character seeks help in every way possible ,and even tries to avoid the problem which eventually catches up to her and forces her to deal with it. While dealing with the problem ,it made her a stronger person inside and out. I feel like the character learned her lesson in this movie ,and she is a representation of other people who are struggling with money problems and do not know what to do.

Although this movie is mostly based on one subject involving money ,it is also about friends, family ,and love. These are the things that helped the character make it through her hard time with money once she was honest about it ,and quit trying to run from the problem. If you have not seen this movie yet ,I would recommend watching it at least once. If you have already seen this movie ,I would recommend watching it again and looking beyond it being entertainment and try to get a life lesson from it ,because it might help you or someone else with money troubles even though it is light-hearted and humorous ,it could give someone a different perspective on their troubles if they have any that needs to be worked out. I know life is not like a movie ,but I feel like movies are based on real life a lot of the times ,even fantasy movies could be based on real life.
